Nice to meet you! I’m Maeven.
a little about about me.
A culturally-responsive and innovative program designer, I have a demonstrated history of successfully engaging communities and professionals in customized outcome-based learning experiences. I am a strong business development professional, well-versed in leading and developing performance-driven strategies for organizational growth. My experience includes designing virtual events and learning opportunities (including certification programs), developing and implementing community, customer, and audience-first engagement strategies, project management, fundraising, and creating customized evidence-based practice frameworks and outcome-focused learning experiences. My background in community settings, media, and arts education has made me an experienced and creative problem-solver.
A certified teacher and integrated learning specialist, I studied arts education and performance theory at UCLA which I credit for my unique approach to program and instructional design. I started my career designing programs for a community media center that went on to be a national model. Over time, I developed tools and best practices that I have shared in conferences, workshops, and trainings both locally and nationally. I am an alumni of Harvard Kennedy School’s Adaptive Leadership Network, as well as a graduate of their Media Transformation Challenge program where I specialized in Strategic Change Management. My work as a content producer earned me George Foster Peabody Award, and I’ve developed programs that have been recognized for excellence by the White House Arts + Humanities Youth Program Award, the Kennedy Center for Performing Arts, school districts, county agencies, and philanthropic foundations.
After a decade and a half in the nonprofit sector, I was ready for a new challenge and obtained my certificate in Corporate Social Responsibility from Pepperdine University in 2021. Since then I have enjoyed consulting for nonprofits, for-profits, and individuals on projects including; leadership development, strategic initiatives (planning and implementation), fundraising, employee experience development, customer experience development, technical on-the-job trainings, instructional design, and nonprofit program development.
